REQUEST A REIFU​

 

​We are honored to create reifu in response to specific needs. The process is straightforward:

1. Email your request to info@korinji.org.

In your message please describe the wishes, challenges, obstacles, illness, or any other circumstances that frame your request. Describing these in detail will enable us to carefully choose the reifu most appropriate to your situation. For example, instead of simply saying that you are suffering from illness, please tell us what illness if possible: there are reifu for very specific conditions. Please also include your mailing address.

Though we can't list all of the hundreds of reifu here, it may be helpful to see just a few of the broad categories of benefit that are traditionally described:
 

• freedom from illness, and long life

• removal of spiritual obstructions

• increase in position or rank

• fortune and long prosperity

• flourishing of one's descendants

• victory in conflicts and legal disputes

• success in business

• immunity from epidemic disease

• prosperous fields and healthy livestock

• safe travel

• exorcism of negative forces and entities

• avoidance of calamities

• protection from theft

• harmony and affection in relationships

• support from one's employees or superiors

• peace and stability in the household

• attainment of excellence in various arts

• one's wishes being fulfilled

2. We will respond.

We will answer asap, but thank you for your patience during times our abbot is in retreat or traveling. We may ask for more information. When we are confident that we have understood your needs and that a reifu will be useful for you, we will accept your request and choose the appropriate reifu. We will send instructions for submitting a donation via PayPal. 

3. You may then submit an donation.

The suggested donation is $60 for one reifu, including postage. Your donation supports our monastery, and helps us obtain the ritual materials required to offer this service.

4. Your reifu will be prepared.

It will be hand-brushed with vermilion and black inks containing precious and medicinal substances. Your name and wishes will be inscribed on the actual reifu, which is then sealed in an outer envelope for protection and privacy (before sealing, we will take a photo of the reifu for you to view). In the case of smaller reifu designed to be carried on your person, this will also be placed in a clear vinyl sleeve. After your reifu is complete, it will be empowered in a Shingon esoteric Buddhist ceremony.

5. Your reifu will be mailed to you.

We will give guidance for its placement and use. Should you have any additional questions about how to use the reifu, we welcome them at any time.
