Dwelling in this human world, I [Myōken] am supreme among the stars, immortal among divine immortals, and the great general of the bodhisattvas. I illumine the eyes of the bodhisattvas and broadly save the many beings.

ABOUT US

Reifu are brushed by Meido (明道) Moore, abbot of Korinji monastery near Madison, Wisconsin, USA. A Rinzai Zen teacher and author, Meido also practices in Shingon and Shugendo lineages with the dharma name Daitetsu (大徹).
Meido received transmission of the reifu corpus preserved at Korinji, together with oral instructions for their preparation and empowerment, from the Shingon teacher Yamaji Tenshu Dai-Ajari. Yamaji Dai-Ajari is well-known in Japan as a ritual master and author on esoteric practices. His publications regarding reifu include Sacred Mantra Rite of the Chintaku Talismans of Hokushin Myōken (Hokushin Myōken Chintaku Reifu Shinjuhō), Auspicious Rite of the True-Origin Divine-Immortal Talismans of the Heavenly Emperor (Tentei Shingen Shinsen Reifu Kisshōhō), and The Secret Essentials of the Chintaku Shinsen Reifu (Chintaku Shinsen Reifu Hiyōshō).
Wishing that many people might benefit from reifu, Yamaji Dai-Ajari transmitted these teachings to us. We are grateful.
Korinji is a Buddhist training temple in the American heartland. It serves as a Rinzai Zen monastery, a center for Shingon and Shugendō practice, and a place for the study of traditional arts such as calligraphy, martial arts, and tea ceremony. Reifu donations directly support our international dharma activity.
